Victoria Atkins, Home Office Minister from British Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s government resigned on Wednesday. She was among the group of six ministers to resign from Boris Johnson’s govt. Atkins talked about PMs ‘lack of integrity and ‘poor judgment. She even stated that the values, respect, and professionalism have been fractured under Boris Johnson’s leadership. In her letter to Johnson, she stated, “I can no longer pirouette around our fractured values.”
Later, Atkins posted her resignation letter on Instagram with the caption: “With great sadness and regret, I am resigning as Justice Minister. It has been an enormous privilege to serve.” She also mentioned in her social media account that with “sadness and regret” she resigns from the post of Justice Minister due to “fractured values”.
So far, it is reported that Atkins and other 38 MPs handed in their resignation to Boris Johnson’s govt. Along with this, several other former backbencher MPs have stated that they could no longer support Johnson’s govt.
Victoria Atkins’s Tenure in PM Boris Johnson’s Government
Victoria Atkins has served in the office of Minister of State for Prisons and Probation from 16 September 2021 to 6 July 2022. It seems she had a short tenure to serve but she work hard to value her professional identity to the general public.
Next, Atkins served as the Minister of Afghan Resettlement from 16 September 2021 to 8 March 2022.
Furthermore, she has served as the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Safeguarding from 9 November 2017 to 16 September 2021.
Lastly, Atkins served as the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for women from 8 January 2018 to 13 February 2020.

Victoria Atkins Biography
Early Life
Victoria Atkins is born with both northern and southern roots. Atkins was the daughter of former Conservative MP and MEP Sir Robert Atkins. She has been brought up in a market town known as Lancashire. At the age of 3, she was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes.
Atkins did her schooling at Blackpool. Atkins was the first member of her family to attend university to pursue law at Cambridge University. She always dreamt to become a criminal barrister. After some time, she went to London for her law practice.
Legal Career
In her legal career, she worked prosecuting hardened criminals. Over the years, Atkins has prosecuted international drug trafficking rackets, fraudsters, and gun-runners. She was the only one out of 30 advocates in England to attend the prestigious Attorney General’s Regulator’s Panel. So, far she has put her notable experience in the criminal court to good use in the political world.
Social Life
Victoria Atkins has organized numerous public meetings related to Older People’s Affairs, Broadband Summit, Jobs & Apprenticeship Fairs, Flood Forum, etc. Furthermore, over the years, Atkins has paid visits to numerous schools, colleges, businesses, farms, and attended community affairs. In November 2012, Atkins first stood in the election for the Gloucestershire Constabulary area. But, she lost to Martin Surl, a former police superintendent. Next, she was shortlisted for Salisbury’s Safe Seat in 2010. Again, in the 2015 election, Atkins was shortlisted for Tonbridge and Malling Seat. Here, she lost to Tom Tugendhat.
Parliamentary Career
In 2021, Victoria Atkins becomes the minister of state at the Minister of Justice and Minister of Afghan Resettlement. Atkins handled the work for the Ministry of Justice regulating prison operation and policy, violence against innocent women and girls, justice for youth, rape cases, and serious sexual harassment.
From the year 2017 to 2021, Atkins worked as the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State of Crime. She was in charge of Safeguarding and Vulnerability at the Home Office. To mention a few- honour-based violence, FGM, domestic violence, and sexual offences.
In 2015, Victoria Atkins was elected as the Member of Parliament for Youth & Horncastle.
Personal Life
Victoria Atkins is married to Paul Kenward, the managing director of a British Food Company. In their little spare time, both Atkins and her husband run around their son, Monty on the beautiful Lincolnshire Coastline building sandcastle.
