Shane Hawkin’s father, Taylor Hawkins, was a terrific drummer for the rock band Foo Fighters, but he passed away at the age of 50 on March 25th, 2022, in Columbia, due to chest pain, although a clear reason for his death is still unknown even after the investigation from National Institute of forensic medicine.
All the medical support was provided at the moment when he was experiencing severe pain in his chest region, including CPR, but no medical aid could support his critical condition.
By conducting urine toxicological tests, some officials reported the intoxication of a few drugs like marijuana, opioids, tricyclic antidepressants, and benzodiazepines at the time of cessation.
The death of Taylor Hawkins was a shock to everyone present around him. His family, including his kids and wife, were in a state of trauma and heartbreak because nobody was prepared for this incident.
Not only his family but also the ”Foo Fighters” team were terrified by this incident. Absolutely no one could process his sudden death. He was a hero and inspiration for his son, Oliver Shane Hawkins’ and daughters named “Annabelle Hawkins” and “Everleigh Hawkins.”

Shane Hawkins, son of Taylor Hawkins, was shattered after his father‘s death. He lost his father at such a young age, and the pain inside him compelled him to pay tribute to his father. Shane Hawkin’s hero was his own father, and so he decided to conduct a live concert in London with the song “My Hero,” a cover by the Foo Fighters, in the loving memory of his father.
At the concert, he displayed many photos of his father on the display screen to share his love, affection, and respect for his father.
The entire concert went live via Paramount+, where people could see the pain in Shane Hawkins’ eyes for his father.
He played the best drums on that Saturday night with an incredible performance which was appreciated by a crowd of 90,000 people attending the show, it was impossible for the crowd to hold back their tears while watching Shane Hawkins perform on the stage. Shane Hawkins conducted this concert on Saturday night for over 5 hours at Wembley Stadium, where other musicians like Tiger Taylor, Wolfgang Van Halen, Brain Johnson and Blink-182’s.
The show opened with Liam Gallagher performing “Rock ’n’ Roll Star,” followed by Pat Smear on guitar, Nate Mendel on bass and Grohl on drums. Groll was teary-eyed while sharing his experiences with Taylor Hawkins in the show and paid tribute to the loving memory of his dear friend Taylor Hawkins.
Dave Grohl’s daughter Violet also joined Shane Hawkins on a spree of rotation to give their tribute to Taylor Hawkins.
There were many other performances in London, which included The Pretenders, Nile Rodgers, Kesha, and Supergrass. Sir Elton John couldn’t attend the event, but he shared his prayers and wishes via a beautiful voice note.
Brian May did a solo performance of the songs “Love of My Life”, “We Will Rock You”, “I Am in Love with My Car”, “Somebody to Love” and “Under Pressure”. Stewart Copeland played the drums; McCartney sang “Pretenders” and Chrissie Hynde helped him sing “The Beatles”.
Chevy Metal and the Coattail Riders, who were a part of Hawkins’ early bands, also performed at the concert.
Shane Hawkins paid tribute to his father last week in California by joining the local covers band ’The Alive’ and will be conducting the next concert in Los Angeles where musicians like Gene Simmons, Nikki Sixx, Miley Cyrus, Chad Smith, Joan Jett, and Luke Spiller will participate.

After the concert ended, there was an immense amount of energy felt in the auditorium by the crowd. All of them cheered and supported Shane Hawkins. The audience was filled with love and respect for Taylor Hawkins and commented that “Taylor must be extremely proud of his son for continuing his legacy onwards and upwards.”
The hearts of each and every person present in the crowd were praying for the Hawkins family and wishing for their speedy recovery.
The artists who were playing the instruments concluded the concert by addressing the crowd with a conclusion note where they reassured the audience that “Foo Fighters” will always carry forward the legacy of Taylor Hawkins.
The entire team of “Foo Fighters” thanked the crowd for being a part of the concert and giving so much love to their performance. Grohl hugged Shane Hawkins after the show and applauded the crowd for his outstanding performance.
